clay, lots of clay.
at first it was only supposed to be like a foot tall... but my teacher in high school told me i could do better... so he gave me an armature that was a foot tall in itself. lol. what you see here is three feet tall. it didnt fit in the kiln so i had to take like three or four inches off the bottom. in the kiln the hand blew up, but i revised the design by piecing the hand back together and wrapping the sculpture with tape to simulate bandages. it took three months to build and another month to dry out.
